BoomBots is a fighting video game released in 1999 for PlayStation.[citation needed] It was created by Doug TenNapel, best known as the creator of Earthworm Jim, and it was developed by The Neverhood, Inc. Moreover, it was published by SouthPeak Games. Like other games developed by The Neverhood Inc., (The Neverhood and Skullmonkeys), BoomBots features distinctive claymation visuals and various amounts of toilet humor. This game was both a critical and commercial failure.

He searches for the Five Scrolls, which can enhance the powers of his sword, while interacting with people from Allucanet and a nearby village.Development began in early 1997, and was directed by Yoichi Yoshimoto, produced by Yusuke Hirata, and scored by Tsuyoshi Sekito. The game was a departure from Square's previous role-playing video games, which brought the team several difficulties during development. Musashi received a sequel in 2005 for the PlayStation 2 under the name of Musashi: Samurai Legend.

It was the fourth and last game built with the Virtual Theatre engine, which was used to render the locations of the game's events.Unlike the first Broken Sword game, which garnered critical acclaim, The Smoking Mirror received mixed to positive reviews, mostly for not living up to its predecessor. Nevertheless, it was a commercial success, selling about one million copies in the mid-1990s. Revolution released a remastered version of the game in 2010, which unlike the original version, received highly favorable reviews from critics.

The game takes place in both real and fictional locations in Europe and the Middle East.In 1992, Charles Cecil began researching the Knights Templar for the game after he, Noirin Carmody and Sean Brennan conceived Broken Sword. It was built with Revolution's Virtual Theatre engine. This was also used for the company's previous two games. Cecil co-wrote and directed the game, while Eoghan Cahill and Neil Breen drew the backgrounds in pencil and digitally colored them in Photoshop. The game has a serious tone, but features humor and graphics in the style of classic animated films.Critics lauded Broken Sword's story, puzzles, voice acting, writing, gameplay, and music. The game received numerous award nominations and wins. It achieved commercial success as well, with one million copies sold in the mid-1990s. Topping several lists, it is known as one of the greatest examples of adventure gaming. The game features one-on-one armed combat. Its name refers to the Japanese warrior code of honor, Bushidō.Upon its release, the realistic fighting engine in Bushido Blade was seen as innovative, particularly the game's unique Body Damage System. A direct sequel, Bushido Blade 2, was released on the PlayStation a year later. Another game with a related title and gameplay, Kengo: Master of Bushido, was also developed by Light Weight for the PlayStation 2.
