Road & Track Presents: The Need for Speed is a 1994 racing video game first released on the 3DO and then ported to MS-DOS, PlayStation and Sega Saturn. It is the first installment released in the Need for Speedseries. The premise of the game involves racing in sport cars, including several exotic models and Japanese imports.The game was noted for its realism and audio and video commentaries. Electronic Arts teamed up with automotive magazine Road & Track to match vehicle behavior, including the mimicking of the sounds made by the vehicles' gear control levers. The game also contained precise vehicle data with spoken commentary, several "magazine style" images of each car interior and exterior and even short video clips highlighting the vehicles set to music.The Need For Speed was later released in Japan as Over Drivin', with Nissan as the sponsor and the lineup of cars changed to popular Japanese models.

Robo Pit (ロボピット) is a robot fighting game released in 1996 for PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The game was developed by Altron and published by Kokopeli Digital Studios outside Japan. A sequel, Robo Pit 2, was released in Japan on PlayStation in 1997. It was also released in Europe and North America in 2003.[1]The object of Robo Pit is to build a robot and then fight to the top in arenas that are square in shape. There are many different types of arenas, some with bosses, and the time of day can vary.There are various types of weapons which include axe, lips, sword, missile and claws. The robots different body parts have different stats that affect its performance. Although all body parts are available from the start, the only way to unlock more weapons is to fight more robot enemies.

Jarvis planned to produce sequels, but the North American video game crash of 1983 halted most video game production for a few years. Prior to the full effects of the crash, Vid Kidz developed an official sequel, Blaster in 1983. The game is set in the same universe and takes place in 2085 in a world overrun by Robotrons. Williams considered creating a proper sequel in the mid-1980s as well as a movie adaptation. The company released a sequel with 3D graphics titled Robotron X in 1996 for the Sony PlayStation and personal computers. It was ported two years later to the Nintendo 64 as Robotron 64. In addition to the graphical update, the game includes new audio and multiple camera angles. Though the game features similar gameplay as the original, it was not as well received. Authors Andrew Rollings and Ernest Adams considered the moving camera in the 3D environment a negative update. They felt the original format—an overhead perspective of a single screen—presented the player with all the necessary information and relied on the player's skill. The moving camera angle, however, obscured areas of the playing field and could result in the player being shot by an enemy that suddenly appeared. Vince echoed similar statements, stating that the gameplay suffered from the loss of important aspects from the original.Rollings and Adams, however, attribute the fad of classic video game remakes in the late 1990s in part to Robotron X's release.

Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots is a popular two-player action toy and game, designed by Marvin Glass and Associates and was first manufactured by Marx toy company in 1964. It features two dueling robot boxers, Red Rocker and Blue Bomber, mechanically manipulated by the players, and the game is won when one player knocks the head off of the opponent. The 2000s version of the game by Mattel features physically smaller robots.

Rogue Trip: Vacation 2012 is a 1998 vehicular combat video game. It was developed by the game studio SingleTrac using the concept and the engine of their earlier series Twisted Metal, and published by GT Interactive, for PlayStation. The soundtrack includes "The Rascal King" by The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and "Snake Eyes" by Nashville Pussy.

Rollcage Stage II is a racing video game developed by Attention to Detail for PlayStation and Microsoft Windows. It is the sequel to Rollcage. On top of the basic racing concept, the cars can be equipped with weapons, which are picked up on the track as bonuses, which can be used against competing cars. The automobiles themselves, once again, have wheels that are larger than the body of the car thus creating a car that has no up or down and therefore can be flipped yet continue to drive.For the North American Microsoft Windows release, game publisher Take-Two Interactive repackaged the original European/Australasian version as "Death Track Racing".Rollcage Stage II was also among the very first titles to feature hardware-accelerated bump mapping upon its release in March 2000, in the form of EMBM (Environment Mapped Bump Mapping). RSII was designed to be best experienced at the time on Matrox Millennium G400 graphics cards, released in mid-1999, which had exclusive support for EMBM until the ATI Radeon was released in late 2000. Matrox's bump mapping technology was much hyped by industry press outlets at the time, with Matrox demoing Rollcage Stage II as a cutting-edge showcase for their cards, as well as dedicating a page on their website to the game.
