The Note (公開されなかった手記 Koukai Sarena Katta Shuki: The Note) is a first-person survival horror adventure game developed by Team Bughouse and published by SunSoft for the Sony PlayStation. It was released in Japan on January 17, 1997; and in Europe on October 1 of the same year. The game did not see a North American release. It is perhaps one of the least known games on the platform, as a result of its limited release.

Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen (伝説のオウガバトル Densetsu no Ōga Batoru, "Legendary Ogre Battle") is a real-time tactical role-playing video game developed by Quest and released in 1993, and in 1995 in North America as the first installment of the Ogre Battle series. It was directed by Yasumi Matsuno and designed by Matsuno and Akihiko Yoshida. The story of Ogre Battle focuses on a band of rebels as they lead a revolution against a corrupt reigning Empire, ruled by an evil Empress.Ogre Battle was ported to the Sega Saturn and PlayStation, with enhancements made to the original gameplay. It was later released for Virtual Console, and mobile phones. A successor, titled Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together, was released in Japan in 1995 for the Super Famicom.Critical reception to Ogre Battle has been positive; critics have generally praised its gameplay, graphics, and in-depth storyline. The game is also noted for its difficulty, with many reviewers describing the game's desirable good endings as being one of the true challenges in the game.

PaRappa the Rapper (パラッパラッパー Parappa Rappā) is a rhythm video game developed by NanaOn-Sha and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation. Created by music producer Masaya Matsuurain collaboration with artist Rodney Greenblat, the game features unique visual design and rap-based gameplay and is considered to be the first true rhythm game. The game was first released in Japan in 1996 and was later released in North America and Europe in 1997. The game was ported to the PlayStation Portable in 2006. A remastered version of the original PlayStation game was released for PlayStation 4 in 2017 for the game's twentieth anniversary.The game spawned two follow-up titles; a guitar-based spin-off titled Um Jammer Lammy, released in 1999 for the PlayStation, and a direct sequel, PaRappa the Rapper 2, released for the PlayStation 2 in 2001. An anime television series based on the games aired in Japan between April 2001 and January 2002, with a short spin-off series airing from October 2016.

Pitfall 3D: Beyond the Jungle (Pitfall 3D in Japan and Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle in Europe) is a platform game developed by Activision's internal Console Development Group and published by Activision in 1998 for the PlayStation and by Crave Entertainment in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, where it is called Pitfall: Beyond the Jungle in the Americas and Europe, and Pitfall GB in Japan.

Pong: The Next Level (known simply as Pong in Europe) is a remake of the 1972 game of the same name developed by Supersonic Software and published by Hasbro Interactive.

Populous: The Beginning is a real-time strategy video game and is the third entry in the Populous video game series, developed by Bullfrog Productions. The game was released in 1998 on Microsoft Windows, and in 1999 for the PlayStation. Unlike earlier games in the series, which cast the player in the role of a god influencing loyal followers, The Beginning took a radical departure and placed the player in the role of a shaman, who directly leads her tribe against opponents. Throughout the twenty-five missions of the campaign, the player leads their tribe across a solar system, dominating enemy tribes and tapping new sources of magic, with the ultimate goal of the shaman attaining godhood herself.Populous: The Beginning was the first entry in the series to use 3D computer graphics; Bullfrog waited four years after Populous II: Trials of the Olympian Gods so that the graphics technology could catch up to their vision for a new and different game in the series. The developers considered the addition of terrain deformation and manipulation, combined with "smart" villagers who automatically attended to tasks, to add an entirely new dimension to the series. The game's original title was Populous: The Third Coming before being changed prior to the beta release.Populous: The Beginning plays very differently from earlier titles and received mixed reviews. Critics noted the excellent graphics, while complaints were directed at the artificial intelligence and the indecision in game design between being a real time strategy title and a god game. GamePro's Peter Olafson wrote that Populous: The Beginning was a good game but was "without a quintessential quality that defined Populous."
