Crash is joined by his sister Coco, who is suspicious of Cortex's true intentions, and by Doctor Nitrus Brio, who tries to persuade Crash to gather Gems instead of Crystals.Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back received generally positive reviews from critics and was considered to be superior to its predecessor. Much of the praise went to the game's graphics, control and music, with major criticisms varying between the trial-and-error gameplay, lack of level variety, easy boss levels and lack of innovation. During the races, offensive and speed boosting power ups can be used to gain an advantage.Crash Team Racing was praised by critics for its gameplay and graphics, though the audio was met with mixed opinions. Creatures is an artificial life (alife) computer program series, created in the mid-1990s by English computer scientist Steve Grand whilst working for the Cambridge video games developer Millennium Interactive. Gameplay focuses on raising alien creatures known as Norns, teaching them to survive, helping them explore their world, defending them against other species, and breeding them. Words can be taught to creatures by a learning computer (for verbs) or by repeating the name of the object while the creature is looking at it. After a creature understands language, the player can instruct their creature by typing in instructions, which the creature may choose to obey. A complete life cycle is modelled for the creatures - childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and senescence, each with their own particular needs. The gameplay is designed to foster an emotional bond between the player and their creatures. Rather than taking a scripted approach, Creatures series games were driven by detailed biological and neurological simulation and their unexpected results. There were six major Creatures releases from Creature Labs. Between 1996 and 2001, there were three principal games released, the Docking Station add-on (generally referenced as a separate game) and two children's games, and there were three games created for console systems. A sequel named Creatures Online was in development, with the artificial life technology from Creatures 3 and Docking Station updated to a 3D environment.

Croc: Legend of the Gobbos is a 1997 platform video game developed by Argonaut Games and published by Fox Interactive. The game was released in North America in September of 1997 for the Sony PlayStation, and later on that year for the Sega Saturn and Microsoft Windows. The game follows a young crocodile named Croc, who sets out to rescue a group of furry creatures known as Gobbos from the evil Baron Dante.Notable for being an early example of a 3D platform game, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos began development as a concept for a 3D platformer in which the player controlled the character Yoshi from Nintendo's Super Marioseries. The concept was pitched to Nintendo by Argonaut, but was ultimately rejected by the company, ending Argonaut's relationship with Nintendo and prompting them to design a new character and retool the game as an original property.Croc: Legend of the Gobbos received average reviews from critics; praise was directed towards the game's visuals and its music, while criticism was directed towards the game's controls and camera.
