Creatures is an artificial life (alife) computer program series, created in the mid-1990s by English computer scientist Steve Grand whilst working for the Cambridge video games developer Millennium Interactive. Gameplay focuses on raising alien creatures known as Norns, teaching them to survive, helping them explore their world, defending them against other species, and breeding them. Words can be taught to creatures by a learning computer (for verbs) or by repeating the name of the object while the creature is looking at it. After a creature understands language, the player can instruct their creature by typing in instructions, which the creature may choose to obey. A complete life cycle is modelled for the creatures - childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and senescence, each with their own particular needs. The gameplay is designed to foster an emotional bond between the player and their creatures. Rather than taking a scripted approach, Creatures series games were driven by detailed biological and neurological simulation and their unexpected results. There were six major Creatures releases from Creature Labs. Between 1996 and 2001, there were three principal games released, the Docking Station add-on (generally referenced as a separate game) and two children's games, and there were three games created for console systems. A sequel named Creatures Online was in development, with the artificial life technology from Creatures 3 and Docking Station updated to a 3D environment.

Critical Depth is a vehicular combat game made for the PlayStation, developed by the game studio SingleTrac and published by GT Interactive. It was released on October 31, 1997.

Croc 2 is a 1999 platform video game developed by Argonaut Software and published by Fox Interactive. It is the sequel to Croc: Legend of the Gobbos. Croc 2 was released for the Sony PlayStation in North America in 1999, and later for Microsoft Windows and Game Boy Color in 2000 and 2001, respectively. Versions of the game for the Sega Saturn and Dreamcast were also planned but ultimately cancelled. The game's plot revolves around the title character going on a quest to search for his missing parents, as well as saving the Inventor Gobbo from a revived Baron Dante.Croc 2 received mixed to positive reviews, with critics particularly praising the game's graphics while criticizing its camera and difficulty. The game featured a heavy advertisement campaign at its release cross-promoting the game with Nabisco's "Gummi Savers" brand of candy.

The game follows a young crocodile named Croc, who sets out to rescue a group of furry creatures known as Gobbos from the evil Baron Dante.Notable for being an early example of a 3D platform game, Croc: Legend of the Gobbos began development as a concept for a 3D platformer in which the player controlled the character Yoshi from Nintendo's Super Marioseries. The concept was pitched to Nintendo by Argonaut, but was ultimately rejected by the company, ending Argonaut's relationship with Nintendo and prompting them to design a new character and retool the game as an original property.Croc: Legend of the Gobbos received average reviews from critics; praise was directed towards the game's visuals and its music, while criticism was directed towards the game's controls and camera. The game was a commercial success, with the PlayStation version having sold over 3 million copies as of 2003. A sequel, titled Croc 2, was released in 1999.

Crusader: No Remorse is an action game developed by Origin Systems and published by Electronic Arts. It was first released in 1995 for MS-DOS, with the Sony PlayStation and Sega Saturn ports following in 1997. Set in a dystopian future 22nd century, the game centers on an elite supersoldier who defects from the tyrannical world government, the World Economic Consortium (WEC), and joins the Resistance rebels.Critically well-received, No Remorse was followed by the PC-only sequel Crusader: No Regret in 1996.

Crypt Killer (known as Henry Explorers in Japan) (ヘンリーエクスプローラーズ Henrī Ekusupurōrāzu) is a 1995 arcade video game produced by Konami. It was also released in 1997 for the Sega Saturn and Sony PlayStation home consoles, and in Japan for the PC. The Saturn version makes use of the Saturn's various light guns, while the PlayStation version is only compatible with one of the many light guns produced for the PlayStation, namely the Konami Justifier. The game's scenery and characters are all in 3D, while most of the enemies are 2D sprites.
